There is a hole in the Pipeline Track surface at a culvert over the Levert Rivulet (approx 42.945955 S, 147.230185 E). This section of track is outside of Wellington Park. The track remains open to riders and pedestrians, but has been closed to maintenance vehicles pending assessment and repair.
The Trust uses the ATLYST platform to assess traffic counter data that has been collected by the City of Hobart since May 2014. The traffic counter records vehicle counts, speed, direction and vehicle class.
Peak traffic on Pinnacle Road occurs on weekends and public holidays, which consistently experience almost twice as much traffic as week days. The highest daily traffic counts often correspond to significant natural events (heavy snowfall, aurora activity) or holidays including New Year's Eve, Christmas Day and Easter. Eight of the top 20 busiest days on Pinnacle Road occurred in 2023-24.
