Any event or group activities in Wellington Park held by organisations or individuals that will be advertised and open to the public require a permit. Permit application fees may apply.
The following events and group activities do not require a permit unless they involve an activity prohibited under another part of the Wellington Park Regulations 2019:

Event applications should be lodged at least 2 months before the proposed date of the event.

Wellington Park is a public space, and therefore simple, basic wedding services require no approval. Huts or other areas of the Park are not available to be booked for exclusive use.
A permit is required to hold a reception in the Park if tables, marquees etc, are required to be brought in and erected.
Wedding bouquets and other ornamental vegetation must not be left in the Park. It is not permitted to bring butterflies into the Park or to release them within the Park.
Businesses that you engage as part of your wedding who will be present in the Park (eg celebrants, commercial photographers) must hold a commercial operator licence to provide their services within Wellington Park.
